The following glossaries make up Version 2 of the ABCZ Typing Assistant for Medical Transcription. TAMed2C consists of approximately 92,000 entries. You can use one, several or all of the glossaries, depending on your needs, for rapid entry of medical terms.
These glossaries help you type words and phrases with fixed abbreviations using the simple ABCZ rules in the Phrase Advisory. Entries in the Words Advisory can be reached by any left-to-right abbreviation.
GLOSSARY NAME (APPEARS IN THIS ADVISORY):
22,000 medical and ordinary words and phrases. The primary glossary for entering medical terms and phrases using the ABCZ rules for words and phrases. Incorporates a drug administration glossary. (For actual drug glossaries, please see below.) Drawn from actual medical dictation/transcription over 20 years.
What's new: 8000 more entries than TAMed1.
7000 entries. 6 years of dates in 3 formats: regular, slashed, hyphenated, using very brief short forms. One version of the glossary uses the 2-digit year form: 04-08-0x. Another version uses the 4-digit year form: 04-08-200x for hyphenated and slashed dates.
What's new: Easier short form method. 4-digit convention now offered.
13,000 words from actual dictation with emphasis on fields of orthopaedics, neurology, internal medicine, orthopaedic surgery, plastic surgery, and medical-legal. Contains many common first/last names as well.
What's new: Brand new list, not in TAMed1.
7100 entries of common drugs and dosages. To rapidly type in drugs and/or dosages. List compiled in 1999 - for updated list see Judy Gardiner's Drug Lists available through ABCZ.
What's new: Revised and corrected. (But not expanded from the basic list from 1999.)
2460 numbers for use with drugs. Ratios, mg, mL, etc.
1750 common word combinations: verbs (be and have), pronouns plus be and have, prepositions and articles (a,an,the), conjunctions, prepositions and pronouns.
1500 entries. Common suture terms and numbers, e.g. 3-0 Vicryl, #3-0 Vicryl, etc.

280 of the most common words for use with Instant Text's Singles feature.
25,500 reference list. Includes Adverb.glo also. Also contains many names.
What's new: Revised, expanded and corrected.
9000 entries. 1000 verbs. Past and future helping verb plus main verb. Where maximum keystroke savings are essential. Especially useful for surgery reports.
